What we collect

When you create an account, we collect your email address, display name, and optionally your profile photo (via Google OAuth). When you write reviews, save places, or submit claims, that data is stored in our database.

How we use it

• Account management — to authenticate you and display your profile.
• Reviews and saves — to display your contributions and personalize your experience.
• Email notifications — to notify you when your review is approved, your claim status changes, or to send onboarding emails. You can unsubscribe at any time.
• Analytics — we track page impressions and click events (directions, website, Instagram) in aggregate to provide analytics to business owners. We do not sell this data to third parties.

Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication (Supabase sb-* session cookies). These are strictly necessary for the site to function and do not require consent. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Google Fonts is loaded from Google's CDN, which may set its own cookies. We plan to self-host fonts in a future update to eliminate this.

Data sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

• Supabase (database and authentication provider, EU region)
• Cloudflare (hosting and CDN)
• Resend (transactional email delivery)
• Google (OAuth sign-in, Maps embed, Fonts)

Your rights

You can delete your account at any time from your account page. This removes your profile, reviews, and saved places. Under GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify, or erase your data. Contact us at privacy@matchaplaces.com.

Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your data is removed within 30 days. Anonymized analytics (impression counts, click counts) are retained indefinitely.
